
Lauber's Economic Indicator
Current Unemployment Levels:
The Economic Indicator compares the level of unemployment in the counties that comprise Missouri's Second Congressional District with the level of unemployment inside the Beltway. It reflects the most recent numbers that are currently available in Missouri’s Second Congressional District and the Washington, D.C. area. The Lauber campaign will update the Economic Indicator as new numbers become available.
MO-02 estimate: 9.3%
Lincoln County: 11.5%
St. Charles Co: 8.6%
St. Louis County: 9.4%
Nationwide: 10%
Inside the Beltway: 6.1%

The link below is a table showing that since Lauber’s opponent Mr. Akin was elected in 2000, unemployment has risen from 2.5 percent inside the Beltway and 2.7 percent in Missouri’s second congressional district, respectively, to 6.2 percent inside the Beltway and 9.4 percent in the second congressional district according to the most recent numbers available.
